The fabric is thick and somewhat heavy but it didn't bother me when I started moving. It has very low stretch but since the fit relaxed, there is plenty of space for mobility. Its wind resistance is good. I played tennis and pickleball with these in 30-40 degree conditions. An inner layer is not necessary. This joggers held up to the low temps like a champ.
These are very nice and stylish athletic pants. They fit well, are very comfortable, and, thanks to the fleece lining, they are very warm in cold weather. I very much like the three zippered pockets, two on the sides and one in the back. The material seems very sturdy, they will likely last for multiple seasons. I also like the grey color. Overall, I give them two thumbs up!

these pants are super warm . you can see from the attached picture the pants are lined with a warm liner.. the pockets are also lined and super soft against the skin. when I put my pants on and put my hands in the zippered pockets I couldn't believe how soft the fabric was. they feel expensive but of course they aren't.. the pockets are zippered and the waist has a tie along with elastic waist.. I got a Size large . I might have done better with a Medium because the legs are a little long on me im 5'6.. but it might have been too tight on other areas if I went down and sized down .. I weight 170 If that is any indicator of what size you would try to see yourself in... I know they are meant to be men's but that is why I got them because I like my track pants to be a bit more roomy .... I noticed when I took a picture of the back of the pants that the back pocket has a reflective type of paint on the pants.. they are very well made. I am enjoying wearing this during the colder months..
